Founded in 1906 as the first Los Altos neighborhood, North Los Altos started out as a vast area covered by prune and avocado orchards. In the 1950s, it started to boom as a promising residential community. Residents can still see the remnants of those early days on their tree-lined streets. Although some ranch-style homes remain, most have been rebuilt or replaced with Craftsman and Mediterranean-style homes.

This Country Club community bears the name of its most popular feature: The Los Altos Golf & Country Club.
